The lifeline thrown to people living with anxiety and depression a few years ago has just been made a little shorter. Policy which made treatment from a psychologist more affordable, thanks to Medicare, is now planned to be reduced unless we can change the mind of our federal government. Psychologist Ben Mullings explained the range of conditions improved by psychological care and Sonia Neale, who says she’s very proud to be a mentally well poster child for the effectiveness of the Medicare Better Access Initiative, describes her life with – and without – treatment.
