The GP representative on the Goverment’s independent advisory group on mental health has quit in protest about the planned cuts to psychological services announced by the Federal Minister for Mental Health. This brave decision mirrors the sentiment of thousands of mental health professionals out in the Australian community, who are feeling bewildered and disallusioned by the recent stance the Labor Government has taken towards mental health care.

 

Her decision has been welcomed by thousands of concerned people who access psychological services in the Medicare system.
